Fine Thethered Noose

Fine Tethered Noose

Such a fine tethered noose woven well around his neck

And gasps for air aren’t helping to sort out

the minute amounts of breaths that he has left

I think the time has come we’ve gotten slightly off the track

But rest assured in place there’s a process proven

Trust me I know it can be an awful lot to digest

So I’ll try and spell it out and clear up the confusion

The absolute very best I can

This boy he meets a girl

A girl who he thinks is beautiful

She’s just a little troubled

Of that we are all sure

But let’s face it aren’t we all

And besides trouble never looked so good

And she makes him feel better

than he thought in a million lifetimes he ever could

Boy loses his s**t and falls arse over tit

in love for the first time

and just that quick another noose gets tied

Good thing there’s room a plenty left

On the branch of the tallest tree

He’s carved their names in

Inevitable falls from such an extensive height

Are assured to kill or at least to paralyze

When the proverbial s**t hits the infamous fan

And besides everyone knows that it’s just a matter of time

A sap soaked penknife is all that is left behind " to remind

of days that have gotten better and how fast they’ve sailed on by

So here we are again we find ourselves back at the start

With minor flesh wounds suffered from tattoos over each of their hearts

The story is the same although the names may have been changed

No one is truly innocent it’s just a fun way to kill the day

A fine tethered noose is a metaphor for bride

Whether a good or bad thing is up for you to decide

For the record no one was harmed in the writing of this song

As for boy and girl they are now known as man and wife
