Before You Wake Me

Before You Wake Me

A Poem by Olmsted A. T.
"

A Bit Of Words

"

Before you wake me

Let me dream of her and I

for just one more night

Let me kiss her lips

They tasted  oh so divine

Let us walk hand in hand

Let her smile light my way

Till the darkness is vanquished

With the breaking light of day

Let me hear the songs

Our hearts used to sing together

And before you wake me

Let me dream forever

Just a simple dream of her

every once in a while

Little hints of happiness

Just to while away the time

More valuable than dollars

Much more precious than fine gems

And before you wake me

Let me smile once again

Is it too much to ask

To have those moments back

A chance for me to be

the cause of her smiles

For new memories never made

id gladly give up everything

Just to have her heart

beating next to mine again

At 11:11 let me make this same wish

At 2:00 am let us be together again

At 6:45 ill realize its time

to start the day without her

And before you wake me

Allow me one more dream about her
