Chapter 11- The Fallen Star, RisesA Chapter by The FallenChapter 11- The Fallen Star, Rises. Cora
Warren finally left the hallway just a little after five. He was obviously thinking of another attempt in getting me to fall in 'love' with him, but it was never going to happen. Though I wondered why he didn;t use his charm speak to make me love him...Maybe it was because he wanted to win my heart the right way. I pressed my back up against the door, Sighing softly. I stared at Stardust, The shimmering sword laid on the floor surrounded with blue-ish stardust. I walked over to it, my eyes investigated the stardust, in wonder as to where it came from. There were words written within the sparking dust: You say a fallen star fell from grace, but in truth maybe you are where you belong. Though granting other people's wishes does not please you, you are bringing happiness to others. A job you cannot do from space. I shook my head, and stared hard at the words. Was I really seeing this? Or was it an illusion caused by my lack of sleep?
My hands gently touched the blade of my sword, the words in the dust quickly changed.
The fallen star, has matured much since she fell. Her spirit form shall be shown.
My what? My sword began to glow brightly, words began to dance off the walls. The star, gets to visit her past! Regains her Spirit form, in order to save the only family she knew. I looked around, my hands began to tremble. I was then engulfed in a bright blue light, a light bubbly feeling began to stir within my stomach. My jeans vanished, along with my purple T-shirt. A short, white, dress began to take shape on my body, and a few roses bloomed. One over my left breast and others on the skirt of the dress. My hair grew down to my ankles as I was lifted off the floor, a pair of light red ballet flats formed on my feet. The light slowly faded, and I collapsed onto the cold wooden floor. I could hardly breathe, my hands smoothed out the dress as I tried to wrap my head around what had happened. The room was covered with a pink light, and a pair of blue ballet flats attached to someone's leg took their form in front of me. I hesitantly looked up. A girl with braided blonde hair, and a pink short dress stood in front of me. Tulips were placed within her perfect hair. "Who are you..?" I asked quietly. "This is the first time you have ever been scared." She laughed lightly. "I am Estrella." She smiled, her white teeth glistened. "Why are you here?" I brushed my hair out of my eyes. "You have earned your true form. I now must show you who you were before you even became who you are now." She explained. I raised a brow. "What do you mean?" "Every star had a life as a human before, they were chosen for a reason. You, Cora, were chosen because of you're curiosity for the things unknown." Estrella said. "You wanted to be an astronomer, and discover something no one has ever discovered before.." Estrella bent down in front of me. "Now you will see why you are who you are now, and how this all started." Estrella kissed my forehead, bringing my vision to a halt , and sucking me into a black hole. The sky was grey, and the air was thick and hazy. I stood up and looked around, old brick buildings surrounded me. I sighed and looked for anyone who could possibly be familiar to me, Asher, Warren even possibly Celeste no matter how much I despiesed her. The town seemed deserted, maybe because it looked as if it were about to rain or there could have been another reason. I walked forwards, my mind seemed to know where it needed to go. I currently had no control over anything. A young boy with bright blue eyes and blonde hair ran past me, screaming. "She's discovered something!" He banged on the doors. "She really did this time!" He said running to the next door. Do what? I wondered. My feet moved faster as they followed the boy, as he bothered every body in the town. He stopped yelling and ran down the street, a telescope sat in front of a building, and people trudged over to crowd around. "She's at it again?" A voice whispered. "I hear this time she has built a rocket. She plans on going to the moon." Another voice chuckled at the thought. No one has been to the moon yet?..I must be in the past. "She is crazy!" Voices kept on speaking of the crazed girl, but my eyes kept trained on the balcony of the building. A girl with braided blonde hair, and dark brown eyes stepped out with a smile plastered across her face. Her clothes were torn and tattered. I cocked my head a little, she looked a bit like me when I was trapped in that room. I thought to myself. "I discovered a star!" She said proudly. Everyone looked around. Silence. Then they all erupted in laughter. "Coretta, there are stars everywhere. You cannot discover a star." A mans voice spoke up. "But..it's a blue star!" She said. "She's gone crazy!" A women said. Everyone began murmuring, and moving away from the building. I watched as the girl, Coretta, hung her head in shame. Tears streamed down her face, but their put downs didn't seem to convince her. She jumped down from the balcony, landing on her feet. She took the telescope in her hand and looked into the dark sky. The little boy from before walked up to her side, placing his tiny hands on her shoulders. "Maybe it's time to stop. Everyone thinks you're crazy." He said softly. "No, there are things none of us know about and I want to find them." She replied harshly. "But your dad said that your curiosity is getting out of hand. You are an embarrassment to your family!" The boy said. Coretta looked at him, her eyes filled with hurt but she seemed well aware of that fact. "It's fine. They already stopped feeding me." She said looking down at her way-to skinny body. "I'm the village idiot." She whispered. I felt my arms reach out to pull her into a tight embrace, but I went right through her. The boy's face became one of regret as he backed away from her and ran off. She picked up the telescope and began to trudge off into the alley. I followed her on instinct, I wondered where she might go if her family had hated her. Her telescope was tucked tightly under her arm, and her braid loosened, allowing a few strands of hair to fall over her face. The moon revealed itself from behind the dark clouds, and Coretta's hair glimmered in the light.
A noise sounded from around the corner, Coretta had the same idea as I did. She quickly looked up, wondering where the sound came from. She carefully crept around the corner as did I. Three men sat there, sharpening what seemed to be a butchers knife. Coretta gasped, and pressed her back up against the brick wall. She must have known these men.
“Who are they?” I asked, hoping she could hear me but I got nothing in return. Her telescope slipped from her grasp and hit the ground with a thud. I looked around the corner, the three men seemed to be startled. They got up and began making their way over to Coretta and I.
“I let my curiosity get the better of me again!” She whispered knowing the price she was going to pay. One of the bald headed men peered around the corner, when his eyes landed on Coretta a devilish grin spread across his face.
“Hey boys, it's that girl again.” He said, gesturing for the others to come and look.
“She got away last time, but not this time.” One of the other men said, roughly grabbing her arm. Coretta struggled against him, she attempted to kick him but the other man grabbed her leg. She fell to the ground, landing on her back. Tears began to form in her eyes. The men surrounded her, ripping off whatever was left of her clothing. I knew what was coming and I didn't need to watch. I covered my eyes and walked away.

About an hour later, still trapped in the past I walked back to the place where I had left Coretta. She laid on the ground, blood surrounding her petite body. I placed my hands over my mouth, as I examined her body. She was naked, a blood stained letter sat beside her.
Now you are in the stars, along with your mind. -TM
My eyes flickered back to her body, a knife was driven into her heart.
My eyes opened to the sound of Asher's concerned voice. “Cora?! Are you alright!?” He asked, my head in his lap. I looked up at him, I raised my hand to touch his face to make sure he was real.
“I'm fine..Just confused.” I said. I looked down at my clothes, the dress was gone and was placed with my old clothes that I had on before. I shuddered when the thought of Coretta's dead body entered my brain. Was that girl me...? © 2013 The FallenAuthor's Note
