He Had to Go

He Had to Go

A Poem by oliviabush

Darkness falls as night arrives

The end of a life will soon arrive
No one can see his face
Wherever he goes he is out of place
Can we find him before he goes?
He’s needed by many far more than he knows
Is he a savior or is he a god?
Can he be more than anyone thought?
He thinks his life means nothing at all
Why can’t he hear us when we call?
Someone should stop him before he can go
So we can show him that love can grow
He doesn’t know how much we need
The love and hope that is his seed
He says this is it, there’s no more
That we will never understand the weight that he bore
He says we will understand in time
And that we will never be far from his mind
Can somebody stop him he doesn’t need to die?
He won’t even let us say good-bye
The women cry as the children sleep
He slips away without a peep
Why he died we’ll never know
We just know that he had to go

This was really powerful. I read it first top to bottom and i liked it. It flowed well and spoke of a strong and important story, that many can relate to.
Then i read it Bottom to top, and it told a very similar story, but I think the flow was even better!
I know i'm wierd. :)

Good write! :)
