The Girl Who Cried WolfA Poem by iron_roseWell, what can I say? Sh*t happens. She turned her smile my way and my guard softly softened She spoke to my stupid heart and my heart quickly opened I so longed to touch her face although I couldn't reach her She said she loved me so and I so wanted to keep her But then she grew rather cold and made true all that I feared Because just as quick as she came so quickly she disappeared I struggled to stay afloat I was neck deep in lies I thought she was crying too but there was no pain in her eyes She went and cried wolf with the love that she confessed Then i opened my arms to her but she kicked a hole in my chest I blame no one but myself It's so stupid it should be a crime She cried wolf and I ran to save her THREE F*CKING TIMES! "Three times is a charm" they say Maybe this time I'll learn And you know everybody has to cry You'll just have to wait for your turn. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, I should just jump off a f*cking bridge.
