Respect

Respect

A Poem by oldwarrior
"

What is respect?

"

It’s hard to see and tough to judge, this thing we call respect.
Involved are thoughts and hidden scars, and fears we must reject.

If we protect their rights to choose, the life they wish to live,
Perhaps a start to true respect, is ours to share and give.

A different style, a different drum, ideals and hopes and dreams,
The world is filled with many ways, it’s harder than it seems.

For within ourselves we have the means, to create eternal bliss,
And through respect for everything, a lasting happiness.

To look beneath the things we see, far beyond our fears and guile,
And see the hopes and dreams of God, then we’ve passed a final trial.
