Let No Man Raise His Hand

Let No Man Raise His Hand

A Story by Micheal Teal

As a man I have seen far to many women suffer abuse at the hands of men.

From this point on Let No Man Raise His Hand in Anger , Let No Man Raise His Hand in Hate , Let No Man Raise His Hand in Conflict for to do so diminishes the Human Spirit.

Women are our greatest treasure. They bring life into the world. They nurture our spirits and nourish our souls yet far too many of them suffer at the hands of men. What is wrong with us as a society that in the 21st century we still allow this to take place. We must rise up against those that would oppress , we must rise up against those that would abuse. We must rise up against those that value life so little that they would batter ones soul.

Let us embrace Love as a way of life and acknowledge Women as the Divine Blessing they are.

I received a phone call last night from a loved one whose partner was in jail because he had beaten her bloody. What possesses a two hundred pound man to batter a one hundred and fifty pound woman. What possesses a man to ever raise his hand to a woman. This is disturbing , puzzling and unacceptable. As men we must raise our voices for silence is a form of abuse . We can no longer turn our backs on our Mothers , Sisters , Wives and Friends.

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

Let today be a Healing Celebration in which we Honour every Woman on Sacred Mother Earth.

For my friends in the Creative Arts I ask that you use your gifts to create awareness. Use your music , art , poetry , writing ... to help change peoples paradigm that we may once and for all put an end to this epidemic. For my friends in the Spiritual/Healing Arts I ask that you send your Prayers and Healing Energies to every Woman who has ever suffered abuse at the hands of a man.

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

As a society we must seek to create better men for the ones we have produced so far have failed. We live in a world of rape , murder , molestation , crime and war. We must choose better leaders , create better schools and seek an existence that is less selfish and more selfless.

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

The pure loves light of my Wifes smile embraces my soul , the beauty of my sisters enchants my spirit , the radiance of my nieces inspires my inner child and the divine spark within every woman I have ever met motivates me to cry out to my fellow man - No More ! No More ! - put your hand down and raise your heart in celebration of the majesty of all women.

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

I ask that you transform your thoughts to those of peace , love and beauty. I ask that you have a reverence for life that honours the beauty of all living things. I ask that you live a soul centered life that promotes social awareness and achieves positive change. I ask that you open your hearts to all women for to do so connects us with higher wisdom and allows love and joy to flow into our lives. I ask that you reach for the heavens while keeping your feet on the ground thereby facilitating peace in the world and creating abundant new possibilities.

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

Women have an innate connection to the soul that transcends this earthly existence. Let us rejoice in their magnificence and seek the fruit of their wisdom that we may all find a peace profound as we live in harmony. To move forward in life we must realize that happiness is a choice and must make a conscious effort to make better choices. Teach your children well for they are the future of humankind. We spend so much time teaching math and science and far too little time teaching love , honour , respect , compassion , integrity , dignity and truth. If we are to survive we must teach our children to breathe joy and happiness , to embrace respect and compassion , to see selflessly through spiritual eyes.

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

May this simple note inspire you to Light a Candle of Love thereby illuminating a path of spirit nurturing truth that will lead us out of these dark times into a brighter tomorrow.

Tell your Mother you Love her!
Tell your Sister you Love her!
Tell your Daughter you Love her!

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

Yours in the Glory of Love Profound
Micheal

Hi Michael,

Frst of all I would like to thank you for the friend invite. Even though it appears I have been with Writer's Cafe for some time, I really only started to begin to understand the posting today and I have made a couple of meager attempts.

This write I must agree with Sydelle, is extremely well done. Abuse of any kind has long been one of my soapbox issues and I will be posting writes on the subject myself. I have not been the victim of abuse but I have met and known many that have been.

I will be back to visit with you again soon. I loved your opening remarks on your Profile page and I can't wait to get to know you better.

Blessings,
Lesa

There is many forms of abuse, physical being to most visual. I was taught men should not strike a woman but I was also taught not to provoke them. The (teach her a lesson) attitude is childish thinking. Years ago, I told my husband before we married that if he ever beat me to be scared.... very scared. He has never raised a hand to me. I don't believe he would anyway but I have made him angry as all get-out but we work it out. If we could only change the world....

A very good topic to discuss but I feel there is no answer to the problem of abuse. I wish there was. You are right about the teaching, I think that is where it all begins.

Great write!

This is sooo powerful, beautiful and true. Any man who inflicts any abuse on a woman, be it emotional or physical, is truly conflicted inside. You write very stongly, and you use some brilliant lines to really drive home your point. This is inspiring and it was also heartwarming to read some of the comments of the brave survivors of abuse here, on Writer's cafe, and just shows how amazing and fantastic this piece is, that it can have that affect on people.
Thank you so much for posting it and sharing with us!

This is a beautiful piece! I grew up in a household where my mother was abused. It took her so long to overcome it that I truly thought she'd spend the rest of her life with that vile monster. This is the kind of injustice that is so hard to fight because a lot of the physical abuse stems from the mental and emotional abuse.

Bravo to you for putting a voice to the epidemic that only seems to be growing. I volunteer at a shelter for battered women and children so the statistics are absolutely overwhelming---especially so close to the victims. These women are mothers, sisters, daughters, friends, cousins, neighbors---they need a voice. For far too long their abuses have been swept under the rug and tucked away because society can't face facts.

Something needs to change. It needs to change quickly.

We should never allow violence into our homes men or women. There should only be love that resides in our hearts. Why is this so hard for people to understand. I think this was a well thought out piece and anyone who raises their hand to hit someone or destroys their spirit is not a person of character. So much we lack now a days anyway is character. Great piece.

I was an abused wife. I left! Took my 2 kids, gained Soul Custody. Different than Full. Soul Custody there is NO chance of him seeing them. Thanks To my Lawyer Bruce. Without him, I'd still be in shambles! This is very similar emotionally to what i wrote and speak about on facebook in my Info:

Favorite Quotations: There will surely be a future hope for you and you will not be cut off. Jeremiah 29:11,

AND maybe a suggestion or two: Men... love your moms, love your sisters, love your girl if you have one and (friends), love your wife if you have one, love all, and remember NEVER, EVER, EVER, RAISE A HAND TO A WOMAN!!!!!

Love you MIchael, now if all men can grasp this concept all Women will feel loved

Have an Awesome and Blessed Day
Cheryl

thank you!
this is a really inspiring and powerful peice. it really makes you think, and opens your eyes to the terrible world of abuse. my older sister was abused for awhile by this guy, and i really wanted to beat the crap out of him (which would have been really difficult bc this guy was HUGE)
anyway, thanks for writing this, and for putting the resources at the bottom. great write, micheal :)

I agree with the societal issue of abuse, I unfortunately don't agree with the "man witchunt" that follows.
Abuse is a condition spawned of that persons previous abuse. The cycle cannot be punished for being the cycle it must be approached and healed.
A man who abuses a woman, is a child screaming from his being that he is not okay and he needs help.
A woman can also abuse the man and it is twice as horrible in my eyes because it is the role of a woman to nurture and love.

Powerful. I so admire you not only for your beliefs but for speaking out in an emotional plea to all of us. We cannot forget or let slide the injustices of abuse in any form and it can be so subtle that many abused women cannot see the attempts at control over their minds, spirits and bodies. Abuse comes in many degrees. Thank you for the emotion. I will read more of your writings. Linda

i love the message that you have put out in this. it is truly inspirational and i so agree that people need to be more aware to what is going on around them. it is well written and gets the point across that this is a horrid circumstance that way too many people go through, feeling so lost and alone and that they have no where to turn. thank you for putting this out there and sharing it with us. thank you also for putting the resources there, as i am sure many people will use them.
