Let No Man Raise His Hand

Let No Man Raise His Hand

A Story by Micheal Teal

As a man I have seen far to many women suffer abuse at the hands of men.

From this point on Let No Man Raise His Hand in Anger , Let No Man Raise His Hand in Hate , Let No Man Raise His Hand in Conflict for to do so diminishes the Human Spirit.

Women are our greatest treasure. They bring life into the world. They nurture our spirits and nourish our souls yet far too many of them suffer at the hands of men. What is wrong with us as a society that in the 21st century we still allow this to take place. We must rise up against those that would oppress , we must rise up against those that would abuse. We must rise up against those that value life so little that they would batter ones soul.

Let us embrace Love as a way of life and acknowledge Women as the Divine Blessing they are.

I received a phone call last night from a loved one whose partner was in jail because he had beaten her bloody. What possesses a two hundred pound man to batter a one hundred and fifty pound woman. What possesses a man to ever raise his hand to a woman. This is disturbing , puzzling and unacceptable. As men we must raise our voices for silence is a form of abuse . We can no longer turn our backs on our Mothers , Sisters , Wives and Friends.

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

Let today be a Healing Celebration in which we Honour every Woman on Sacred Mother Earth.

For my friends in the Creative Arts I ask that you use your gifts to create awareness. Use your music , art , poetry , writing ... to help change peoples paradigm that we may once and for all put an end to this epidemic. For my friends in the Spiritual/Healing Arts I ask that you send your Prayers and Healing Energies to every Woman who has ever suffered abuse at the hands of a man.

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

As a society we must seek to create better men for the ones we have produced so far have failed. We live in a world of rape , murder , molestation , crime and war. We must choose better leaders , create better schools and seek an existence that is less selfish and more selfless.

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

The pure loves light of my Wifes smile embraces my soul , the beauty of my sisters enchants my spirit , the radiance of my nieces inspires my inner child and the divine spark within every woman I have ever met motivates me to cry out to my fellow man - No More ! No More ! - put your hand down and raise your heart in celebration of the majesty of all women.

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

I ask that you transform your thoughts to those of peace , love and beauty. I ask that you have a reverence for life that honours the beauty of all living things. I ask that you live a soul centered life that promotes social awareness and achieves positive change. I ask that you open your hearts to all women for to do so connects us with higher wisdom and allows love and joy to flow into our lives. I ask that you reach for the heavens while keeping your feet on the ground thereby facilitating peace in the world and creating abundant new possibilities.

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

Women have an innate connection to the soul that transcends this earthly existence. Let us rejoice in their magnificence and seek the fruit of their wisdom that we may all find a peace profound as we live in harmony. To move forward in life we must realize that happiness is a choice and must make a conscious effort to make better choices. Teach your children well for they are the future of humankind. We spend so much time teaching math and science and far too little time teaching love , honour , respect , compassion , integrity , dignity and truth. If we are to survive we must teach our children to breathe joy and happiness , to embrace respect and compassion , to see selflessly through spiritual eyes.

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

May this simple note inspire you to Light a Candle of Love thereby illuminating a path of spirit nurturing truth that will lead us out of these dark times into a brighter tomorrow.

Tell your Mother you Love her!
Tell your Sister you Love her!
Tell your Daughter you Love her!

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

Let No Man Raise His Hand!

Yours in the Glory of Love Profound
Micheal

Hi Michael,

Frst of all I would like to thank you for the friend invite. Even though it appears I have been with Writer's Cafe for some time, I really only started to begin to understand the posting today and I have made a couple of meager attempts.

This write I must agree with Sydelle, is extremely well done. Abuse of any kind has long been one of my soapbox issues and I will be posting writes on the subject myself. I have not been the victim of abuse but I have met and known many that have been.

I will be back to visit with you again soon. I loved your opening remarks on your Profile page and I can't wait to get to know you better.

Blessings,
Lesa

A truly inspiring read. This piece soars, like a sermon or a great oration. The short, clear sentences, the way it continues to repeat the title, drive the point home again and again. "Let no man raise his hand." Of course I want to add, "Or woman." Women are guilty too, and it's just as disgusting.

Many abusive men say that it's their culture and they are proud of their culture. Actually this part of their culture involves the idea that wives must be kept under control because they will run off with somebody else if given the chance. What is really going on with these sad little men, deep down, is that they see themselves as so unlovable that no woman would want to live with them. Violence toward another begins with hatred towards oneself.

I hope these men look within themselves and realize that no culture is perfect, and some traditions should never have existed to begin with. It only takes a few to say, "Enough. It is time to start a new tradition." Perhaps some will be inspired to do so by reading this piece.

As a former victim of abuse, I can truly appreciate this writing. My Dad once told me real men never hit women. My Dad has not laid a hand on my mother in the 33 years they have been married. It's a shame the man I was abused by never learned that gaining the upper hand was not meant in the physical sense.

This is a well written piece outlining one of societies atrocities. It is a hard thing to grasp and I do hope that many people find their way to your work and read it. The resource links are a wonderful idea. Thank you for the heartfelt write. Smiles to you and yours.

I am speechless and moved beyond words at this point. This has to be one of the most profound writes i have read here on WC. I can not even pinpoint one particular favorite part, the entire piece is brilliantly thought out, written, delvered. I humbly thank you for such a moving, eye-opening write.

Thank you,
Lynne

You have much heart.
However, you can not induce violence as a solution to violence. Unfortunately rising up against those that raise their hands in violence only condones the alleged action. Abuse in any form and to any person is unarguably wrong. But there are so many wrongs in the world that it seems overwhelming to try and point each one out. Who is to say that one is worse than another? Where is the root problem? Does it begin in childhood for the abuser? How can it be stopped? To note that it exists and is unacceptable is but a formality. Our society, nay our world, must seek a deeper resolution, rather than deal solely with consequential behavior.

I love this. Simple as that.
You have a talent, I couldn't stop reading, I could read and feel how you felt while writing. Thank you for understanding what so many go through, more people need to open their eyes to what happens to so many. Asking others to put an end to this evil is exactly what we need. Amazing work!

Namaste Michael,
Thank you for this. I want to add, thought that, even though I was raised in a violent home, it was not father against mother. The cycle of violence is unfortunately susceptible to both sexes. We must ALL learn not to raise our hands and stop the cycle of violence completely.

Love to you

Bravo!
As a woman, I am always outraged by the abuses suffered by others of my gender. Whether physical, verbal, or any other -al, no person deserves to be broken down for the pleasure or satisfaction of another.
This goes for men, too! So let no member of either sex raise their hand, their voice, or their malice at each other! It's really just not worth it.
Getting off my soapbox now...
As a purely literary piece, this is very strong, and very too the point. I like it's concise phrasing, the repetition of key phrases. It reads to me almost like a speech, or a sermon--it reads well to the ear. Do you do any speech giving/writing on these topics? You are certainly quite eloquent!
Overall, very much liked. I look forward to reading more of your work.
