Where Have All The Angels Gone

Where Have All The Angels Gone

A Poem by Micheal Teal

Where have all the angels gone? I have grown weary of the battle. As i get older it becomes increasingly more difficult to understand or accept mans inhumanity. Mine is a journey to the divine but my path is blocked by those who wallow in an ocean of negativity. I seek to breathe in inspiration as i send out blessings of peace and love. Yet the weight of hatred , racism , homophobia , sexism ... have taken their toll. There are too many selfish and not enough selfless. We have an inherent earth connection that we ignore for we continually rape the land , taint the water and pollute the air. Where have all the angels gone?

Where have all the angels gone? Where are those who celebrate life and spirit while fostering greater harmony? The heart of the world is broken and we are the abusers. We must create purpose in our lives and seek to enrich , enlighten and educate. We must live in a more conscious way and let our souls speak. Where have all the angels gone?

Can anybody hear me!

I like it. It's like a cry for change- a call to action.
The title is definitly what drew me in, and I like how you repeated it throughout the poem. However, it threw me off when you repeated it at the end of the first stanza and at the beginning of the second. It made me take a really big breath before I read it. XD

You have a very powerful way of reaching out to people through words. It makes me want to get up and do something now... I might just do that.
I hope someday the world can hear these same words.

Very moving. That's the way I feel quite often. Sad, but true. But, I believe the angels are everywhere. You just have to be open.

Micheal Teal this is a wonderful write!! I Love the moral of the poem, it is very true where has the love all gone? I always say that in the end we are the ones to destroy Earth some people say God, but God doesn't even need to lift a finger just watch the show its actually very sad. I'm turning 17 and I have seen a lot of bad things in my short years and sadly a good amount of them in high school. I look at what the future holds and I hope things change. It reminds me of a quote I once heard, its one of my favorites. "When the power of love overcomes the Love of power we will know peace." Thanks for sharing, very nice poem.

some people have moments in their lives when they read things that speak to them and draw out something inside they've wanted to express but found it difficult to do so. this is one of those moments for me. you put it so perfectly the frustration that dwells within most of us. thank you.

A cry for peace, beauty, and living above ones own expectations. This speaks to me a challenge for change. Well penned. I enjoyed reading this.

Great piece! I definitely hear you. Well said and written.
Original subject and amazing message!

Suggestions: Just a few grammatical errors (I know- I'm like the grammar Nazi, sorry!): Capitalize 'i', as it is a proper noun (unless you wanted to do the whole 'e.e. cummings thing' and not capitalize any, but you did for the first I, so I figured you just missed the others). Change it to "man's inhumanity" as it is a possessive noun. Add a comma after "divine" and before "but" in the fourth sentence. Add a comma after "ignore" and before "for" in the eighth sentence.

I can hear you loud and clear, you may not be looking in right places. Read "Lifeline", GOD has his own plans, most of the time in small places, you may find HIM. Thank you for your beautiful words. We all have a Soul, mine belongs to my Creator, not the earth. God Bless

I hear you =)
I wish more people would though. It is horrible and heartbreaking to see everything that happens and know that there is hardely anybody willing to anything about it, or even acknowledge it. This is beautiful.
