Where Have All The Angels Gone

Where Have All The Angels Gone

A Poem by Micheal Teal

Where have all the angels gone? I have grown weary of the battle. As i get older it becomes increasingly more difficult to understand or accept mans inhumanity. Mine is a journey to the divine but my path is blocked by those who wallow in an ocean of negativity. I seek to breathe in inspiration as i send out blessings of peace and love. Yet the weight of hatred , racism , homophobia , sexism ... have taken their toll. There are too many selfish and not enough selfless. We have an inherent earth connection that we ignore for we continually rape the land , taint the water and pollute the air. Where have all the angels gone?

Where have all the angels gone? Where are those who celebrate life and spirit while fostering greater harmony? The heart of the world is broken and we are the abusers. We must create purpose in our lives and seek to enrich , enlighten and educate. We must live in a more conscious way and let our souls speak. Where have all the angels gone?

Can anybody hear me!

I like it. It's like a cry for change- a call to action.
The title is definitly what drew me in, and I like how you repeated it throughout the poem. However, it threw me off when you repeated it at the end of the first stanza and at the beginning of the second. It made me take a really big breath before I read it. XD

You have a very powerful way of reaching out to people through words. It makes me want to get up and do something now... I might just do that.
I hope someday the world can hear these same words.

It's touching and makes people wonder.. People ought to ask that to themselves, at some point.

Very well written, I particularly like the part "There are too many selfish and not enough selfless. We have an inherent earth connection that we ignore for we continually rape the land , taint the water and pollute the air."

Keep up the good work!

Where have all of the Angels gone, is a question which many of us ask on a daily basis. Yet, are afraid of the answer that we may get in reply. A reply which mean we have to change our way of life and start caring for the people around us. Instead of focusing only on ourselves. Sadly, not caring about the people or the environment, which is part of our daily lives. Wish that this was the case for most people, who act out of fear and other negative emotions to anything that is different or new in their lives. Thank you for sharing this thought provoking poem with us.

I hear you. I often think the same thing.. We are a society that has too much hate, too many vices and, as dark as it seems, I believe that such pains will lead to our demise. I recently wrote a poem on the same topic.

I loved the charge and energy in your words. It is so passionate!
