Where Have All The Angels Gone

Where Have All The Angels Gone

A Poem by Micheal Teal

Where have all the angels gone? I have grown weary of the battle. As i get older it becomes increasingly more difficult to understand or accept mans inhumanity. Mine is a journey to the divine but my path is blocked by those who wallow in an ocean of negativity. I seek to breathe in inspiration as i send out blessings of peace and love. Yet the weight of hatred , racism , homophobia , sexism ... have taken their toll. There are too many selfish and not enough selfless. We have an inherent earth connection that we ignore for we continually rape the land , taint the water and pollute the air. Where have all the angels gone?

Where have all the angels gone? Where are those who celebrate life and spirit while fostering greater harmony? The heart of the world is broken and we are the abusers. We must create purpose in our lives and seek to enrich , enlighten and educate. We must live in a more conscious way and let our souls speak. Where have all the angels gone?

Can anybody hear me!

I like it. It's like a cry for change- a call to action.
The title is definitly what drew me in, and I like how you repeated it throughout the poem. However, it threw me off when you repeated it at the end of the first stanza and at the beginning of the second. It made me take a really big breath before I read it. XD

You have a very powerful way of reaching out to people through words. It makes me want to get up and do something now... I might just do that.
I hope someday the world can hear these same words.

How I know the feeling.... Very intelligent, thought-provoking poem. Well written and well received. You certainly have a way with words. I applaud your call to action as well. If only more people could or would do the same! Great job.

Human's are the most destructive creatures to ever walk the earth...we just don't seem to learn, but a few do, and maybe that is the point...who knows?
I certainly can't argue with Education and Enlightment, if only everyone could stop fighting long enough to do that for even a minute, who knows what could happen. Where have all the angels gone indeed.....
Peace

I wish everyone could possess this wisdom, this realization, this spirit of peace, sadness. I wish those that can't possess could accept, agree, understand, and act on that understanding.
What you have written here is the sad
sad
truth.

I had to read this poem twice because I loved the way the words sounded when read outloud. They a certain melody that is only evident in the best poems.

Besides the sound of the words, the message is very powerful. Also, the way it is presented is astounding. Very nice poem

"for we continually rape the land"

That right there is a work of art. Your words are very powerful, I can feel the way you want this world to move.
