Kendrick JohnsonA Poem by Okema5Deserves a ear! Just listen...Kendrick
Johnson
Never to be
heard again while the real ordeal behind the life that was taken from Kendrick
Johnson remain a covered sin, stuffed with newspaper like he was a trash bin
but yet the truth of who got the better deal has yet to be told, but you can
tell me how many records Beyonce, Nikki Minaj, or Iggy has sold. The images of
hate are so vivid in the mind I refuse to push them out as if I were blind. In
tune with the new and never visiting the truths that affect our young black
youth, instead we promote the hate, the shoes, and the clothes and choose never
to expose where we dropped the ball and never picked it up. We would rather
stand in line for the new Jordan retro’s and talk down on those who come from a
broken home, when we face the same dilemma but refuse to admit it or not
remember the journey those before us embarked on so that we can enjoy a bit
more freedom then final outcome. If we are not filling the prison cell, we are
lying beneath the feet of our peers, now how far have we come. When there is no
acknowledgement for the sacrifices and the years of abuse, when you turn to
take notice who you face is you.
