Creative Poetry Prompt Poem using the following words, bewitching, enthralling, inventive, silver, hellion, epic

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bewitching melodies drift alongside red canyon walls

Notes caressing curves of ancient rock rising n falling

In the distance a lone flute sings soulful tributes to life

Honor to balance all in this sacred garden of sentinels

 

Haunting notes lift, touching everything in their path

Inventive sunset dances color onto spires illuminating

Shadowing highlighting mystical painted walls of art

Magic effects of song and light enthralling completely

 

Curiosity becomes a hellion propelling me to explore

Winding down the wall along the rivers path weaving

To where waters fall cascading into pools lit n aglow

Beams of Ruby, Vermillion, and Ochre trick the eyes

 

On an epic journey seeking the weaver of Red notes

Following the light that crossed worlds to shine here

Haunting melody pulling me as light fades to purple

Sun gives way falling as sky greets silver moon sliver

 

River meanders under the star filled sky as I forget

To tame this lusty wanderer inside beaconing me

Journey, tarry a while longer under the jeweled sky

As stars dance and weave stories of times gone by

 

 

Author's Note

I had a lot of fun writting this because something very much like the poem actually happened to me while following the sound of a Native American's flute down along the very canyon pictured here.

Thank you for stopping by to read my humble work...This is about an actual Native American perched on a canyon rim in the very canyon pictured above, and my quest to find the source of the haunting music drifting down the canyon. I actually did eventually locate the source of the flute.

Firstly what an absolutely wonderful sight.. it's more than magnificent! No idea where it is, but please, may i go there!

And, Veronica. each and every one of your words does it absolute honour. The way in which you've placed the listed word truly couldnt be better and it's not easy to use prompts because your own words come more naturally. Whereas, when using given phrases or words, there has to be a different kind of focus, an exercise rather than a sway of thought. I especially love the emotional and graphic use of language in this stanza,

Oh my goodness...Thank you ever so much Emma Joy; you honor me with your praise. The place is in Sedona Arizona USA. I used to manage The Healing Center of Arizona there in Wilson Canyon, and when I actually found the "Weaver of Red Notes" we arranged for him to spill his haunting melodies across the canyon in while I did out door massages. Incredible place, and even more incredible experiences.

A beautiful meandering of the senses through he endless canyons of the west.How many times have I stopped to look upon the majesty of the painted desert and feel my own insignificance? Can any of us when faced with these not feel the grandeur and epic stretches of endless time that formed them.
