 Killer Television

A poem by Veronica Chandler

Fixed, ridged fragments

Of so called truths

Parading about among themselves

The twisted mirror images

Seek out one another to perform the rite of rights

They look for nods of agreement

And persecute the difference

Life wasted, love lost and beauty escapes

As they drum their fingers in boredom

Among the floating, drifting debris of indifference

Are tight shut eyes and guarded hearts

Afraid of true reflections

They paint the world the way they like, in a hurry to escape it

There is no thought to what is lost or where it might be found

We laugh, we cry, we live then die

But never really see

   The truth in our

TV
