The Truth Knows Your Name

The Truth Knows Your Name

A Poem by Veronica Chandler
"

This piece was excruciating to write, but sometimes the truth needs to be told!

"

The Truth Knows Your Name

I’m goin at you, with a sharp tongue to your soft side.

Squirm all you wish to avoid the pain.

Try to escape as your tears fall like rain

But I’m telling you now…

The truth knows your name!

Every line on your face

Every lie on your heart

When your deeds are illuminated…

It’ll tear you apart.

Using flesh as a weapon

To strike the heart of love

Only cuts the soul of innocence

And you will not rise above.

The choices you made all based on lies

You’ll pay all your life despite your cries.

Hurting a child for your selfish gains

Time passes but your selfishness never wanes.

Remember little girl

The truth knows your name

Remember little girl

The truth knows your game

Innocence will come like a thief in the night

To steal back the truth and make it all right

There’s no place to hide when retribution stalks

No escape from the price, no escape from the locks

You’ll never hide from the innocence you took

No safe haven where ever you look

Innocence knows the truth and the truth knows your name

Innocence knows the truth and the truth knows your game.

Very nice Veronica, aggressively to the point and straight up wisdom.
Hope all is well with you. :)
