Thank you to the artist Trini for use of the picture. This piece is another layer of the onion revealing itself.

Leaving Me

Can I forget you for just a minute?

Your touch haunts me day and night

The way your spirit dove into mine

Leaving me... breathless

Caressed my mind with your heart

Couldn’t keep your eyes off of me

Stroking my heart with your care

Leaving me... lightheaded

Floated above my skies soaking me

Dancing your thoughts on my soul

Touched my very untouchable core

Leaving me... branded

Gave all the best strokes of your pen

Filling every page within my spirit

Etched yourself into my very fabric

Leaving me... restored

Sent your taproot into my fertile soil

Planting seeds of manna from heaven

Sent your tendrils into my every pore

Leaving me... bountiful

Merged your essence fully with mine

Showing me love is not a fairytale

Enfolded in the safety of your love

Leaving me... secure

Glid your peace into me so softly

Speaking a new language of love

Covered my pain in healing salve

Leaving me... whole

Abandoned upon your sudden death

Catapulting me into the dark abyss

Trapped my soul in endless longing

Leaving me... lost

Oh. It's a great celebration of love and a powerful shock of a death. The title gives a warning but even then, you engage your reader with the joy of your love, convey such confidence and surety in it, and convince them with the detail, so it still comes as a shock.
