Tread LightlyA Poem by Veronica ChandlerI nearly made it to the top of this mountain...I hope we can all make it that close to our own personal inner mountains.Tread
Lightly
Swirling
in my heads a theme Inside
the living there’s a scheme Patterns
slap me in the face Life
is beauty and its grace
Words
bend, flex, and color truth Puzzling
me since my own youth Each
has his own rendition In
accord with ambition
Claims
to have life figured out Man
declares, “There can be no doubt” At
one time the world was flat There
goes their truth with a splat
Catching
glimpses over time A
picture forms, it’s born in rhyme Gently
stoked words can ignite Leading
to some deep insight
As
the word wick starts to glow I
glimpse some pieces of life’s show Tantalizing
clues come forth Pointing
to my own true north
Galaxies
in DNA Moved
to see in a brand new way Fractal
patterns connect all life Calling
me to forego strife
I
am you and you are me We
are no different than a tree We’re
particles in motion Not
the drop but the ocean
Living
sparks within a rock Connect
to me and I take stock Gossamer
threads reflecting light Adding
to my new insight
Everywhere
I step is me Sentient
beings meant to be free We
are all in life’s embrace I
see you, in my own face
Links
between all life, laid bare It
teaches me to give my share Connections
shine so brightly I
know I must tread lightly
