Near Death

Wondering shall I stay and comfort you or do I float back home

My sweet Lord is calling for me to return into His light

While arms are inviting with offerings of comforts

Ecstatic blissful warmth in waves engulfs

Only the light clouds of love enfold me

Gentleness and mercy lift me up

My spirit is weightlessness

As I pass by galaxies

Universe gone

Only I

Am

Love

Acceptance

Peaceful tenderness

Exquisite Bliss surging inside

In downy softness I rest my body now

I float above myself looking down on strangers

I see your hearts below agonize around the broken body

I am not in there, but your tears stain the pillow where I lay

Touching your cheek I try to call out your name and your tears stop

I came to teach you and you have learned love so well; my job is done now

In

And out

My spirit drifts

I know I must move on

Leave you here with this pain

I will return and spread my wings

Cover your aching heart with inexplicable

Relief beyond your understanding I will lift you

Cool your burning desires to look into my quizzical eyes

Tickling your memories of laughter we shared countless times

I comfort while you rest in twilight as my image floods your heart

Author's Note

Veronica Chandler
A beautiful teenager I know came near death last night, and was hit and run while running as practice for her "track and field" team. Images of her broken body caused me to think of my partner whom I imagined was having an out of body experience just before he left his earthly confines.

So sad but also beautiful. We wonder what happens in that transfer point from life to death. Regardless of ones religious or spiritual beliefs there is still a release of ones "inner self" at death. You have presented a possibility of that so well. Thank you for sharing this..

The photo is amazing, your thoughts here comforting, I don't know exactly what I believe to be honest, but I hope your words are somewhere near the truth of that feeling of tranquility. Brilliant write Veronica. I hope your friend is doing fine.
