Words Unspoken

Words Unspoken

A Poem by Veronica Chandler
"

Listening to music today this piece asked me to write it, and I readily complied. Artist Eve Larson

"

This vessel contains

My Worlds Left Unspoken

Words spinning inside my spirit

Melodic hums of yesterday’s love

They crank up harmonic vibrations

With a sweet blend of agony and ecstasy

To carry me away into realms of the mysterious

Longings build to crescendos and fall again cascading

Left in a heap beside unspoken words they are wilting within

Crowded spirit bursting at the seems without an outlet or release

Stream dammed long ago by log jams of hate imposed in the innocent

Words would bring down worlds of trouble and silence the only escape

Learning to be seen and not heard; kept creativity caged, within silence

A blessing from this view, is a curse when seen from another vantage

A look to the left shows a lifetime of emotions saved in the bank

Ready to unleash loves understanding in a tsunami of joy

With a glance to the right, the mirage portents doom

Too many pains to count and measure stored

In a jar called memory, the pain filled up

I say throw caution into the wind

Spending every single word now

I’ll go on a word spending spree

And give away every one to thee

Beautiful jar on the shelf bursting

At the seams filled with words saved

Hard times on the horizon wealth in a jar

The bank of word savings ready for speaking

I can’t take them with me when I go home to you
