Spreading my wings

The updraft lifts me slowly

Clumsily at first the wind billows under me

My body rises up, I am weightless

The warmth surrounds

As a thermal wind pulls me toward the clouds

 

My head tilted, shoulders lean in

Body circles widening I soar high above

Arching my back propelled into loops in the sky

Arial acrobatics like otter under water

Dancing on the upward draft

I can see the forests for the trees

 

Far beneath my gaze

Perspective far and wide my view expanding

The big picture showing

Unity

Generosity

Light

This was very uplifting. On a day when I wrote one of my darker poems, the soothing flow of yours words felt very liberating. The way your poem moves forward is reminiscent of how a feather floats away if you kept blowing on it gently. I especially liked the ending: the Holy Trinity as it were, of "Unity, Generosity and Light".
The otter simile, as Emma has pointed out, was noteworthy as well.

My only problem is that the word draft has been repeated thrice (once as "updraft"). I would consider choosing an alternative at least in one place, preferably in the last line of the first stanza. But this little blemish doesn't hurt the poem in a serious way. It was a rewarding experience reading it. I needed it today, especially. Thank you! :)

The picture is fantastic. I wonder, were your words inspired by it, or, did you need search for a pic to compliment your beautiful words? We'd learn so much if we could rise upwards, our perspectives - perhaps our understanding, would be magnified.

I see this writing as being you from core outwards - ispiring in more ways than one You walk.. or, rather, fly, your own path.
