Earth Songs

Earth beats rhythms steady, firm, and clear…

Sky whispers truths reflecting ancestral light…

Waters quench the thirst of justice for the land…

Fires cleanse the old making way for the new…

To the east illumination dawns shining light

Spreading across lynx tracks pressed in the snow

Glistening cherry pink and crimson diamonds

Birds stirring in the trees above leaves underneath

To the south innocence is protected and trust restored

In those southern seas, turtle buries hopes in the sand

Nurturing all the possibilities populating our future

She reminds us take care what; we do to earth we do to us

To the west Sun drops coloring the sky unspeakably beautiful

Light on ant hills & lit up sacred mountains in rainbow color

As industrious ant reminds us to rejuvenate and restore balance

We must go within for our answers and do not seek them without

To the north is our gratitude which orients us back to our blessings

Back to center and ancestral ways standing on the shoulders of giants

Wolf roams the northern lands pathfinder, teacher loyal to the death

Moon guides the wolf pack into adventurous delights to the edge

Up above, the Great Star Nation whispers the direction home

As otter floats on her back in the water, eyes fixed above

Playing endless games with her children reminds us

To allow the unfolding joy in life, not worried

Down below the hum of mother’s rumble

Keeping us grounded on the Red road

Squirrel buries his treasures to store

Plans ahead conserving resources

Deep within us our hearts joy is true

The sacred space within guarded by

Beaver’s diligence, faithful to us

While personal truth is protected

To the right is our guiding Father

Protector of the courageous light

Cougar leads the way nonchalant

To balance our body mind & spirit

To the Left is our nurturing Mother

Teaching us to receive with grace

Badger medicine woman protects

Keeper of the medicine roots

We are all healed

The People

One

There are two songs here, one in English and the other in a Native American tongue; here is a rough translation of the second song...

A hundred years have passed, yet I still hear the beat of my father's drums
I hear his drums throughout the land
His beat I feel within my heart
The drum shall beat so my heart shall beat
And I shall live to be a hundred thousand years

I am forced to turn the Read Requests back off; I am receiving far more per day than I can manage. I brought the numbers down to the low 700's but over the last couple of weeks they have begun to cre.. more..
