I am, it seems an alien, Who, is never quite at
home. Living the life of
gypsies I’m a wanderer on the
roam.
The earth always accepts
me All the creatures do
embrace. People turn their backs
on me. None will look into my
face.
Men see me unapproachable. Women think I’ll steal
their men. I hide my face, cover
my eyes, I hope to elude their
den.
I have tried to hide up
in the hills. And have hidden in
plain sight. The trees give me safe
haven, The creatures help and set
me right.
You would think I am a
monster, By the way they look my
way. Never fully quite at
home An alien regardless of
what I say I have my food and a
shelter Nature comforts and
gives me care But the people run away
in fear Their approval they
will not share
Alone in this world so
bright Not a soul who can see
me They walk right past
and cast disdain When a mere hello would
