Joys of the Naive

Joys of the Naive

A Poem by Electric Fascination
"

I'm decent at writing sad poetry, but happiness can stump me sometimes, even if I am. I feel like this isn't that good, but read&review, please! (:

"

Another song of sunshine

Of joy and pleasant days

I used to believe them nothing

But exaggerations of the naïve

And maybe I am

But a young soul

With permanent rose-colored glasses

But nothing can keep me from smiling

From shouting from the roof tops

My songs and dreams

Looking at the sky

In my backyard

With no clouds to distract

A wandering eye

Hot rays penetrate my soul

And open my heart to

What I’ve shut away

What I’ve been without

But it is different

This time ‘round

Now I have you

To lend me a kiss

Or a hand to hold.

Watching the sun set

On our perfect bliss

Only to rise anew

For another day of harmony

this is wonderful! you can write happy just as good as you write sad. i agree, though, writing happy poetry is more difficult for me, because it is easier to pull sad emotions out of my head and organize them on paper. i think it is because happiness can be in so many different forms, so it is hard to put together. great write, nonetheless, i liked it :)
