Midnight Muse

Midnight Muse

A Poem by Cody Conley

Saturnine night! the hour grows late,

Inspiring bittersweet memories.

There’s a twinkle to these stars

And a smile dances faintly in the dark

To slip away with words unsaid.

There are gentler worlds than this,

Midnight muse. The ethereal

Moonlight seductively

Touches my soul, comforting

Like home. Selfish sadness catches

In my throat, rising and falling

With the night sea. A pixie floats

Like dandelion through my mind

On the cold November wind,

Whispering of summertime daisies

And beautiful melancholy.

I'm afraid I don't have the words for this one, but I wanted you to know I love it. Beautifully written.
