All in A Day's Work

All in A Day's Work

A Poem by Fran Pearce

All in a Day’s Work

Here we stand in the land of the great goddamn

Soon to be bereft,

the land of nothing left -

a cesspool of trumpdung.

Not sure it’s not too late...The seed, spawned

5 times over. Ere long,

their seed to implant, destroy.

The stage is set.

Nero fiddled, Titanic band played Nearer my God to Thee.

Today, we vote and hope.

Spread the word, make it heard.

Vote for sanity, sensibility, responsibility, dignity.

Standing in the land of the great goddamn,

the cesspool of trumpdung - I get it,

the reason why you and I seize and hoard

TOILET PAPER.

While we can still breathe we protest, we petition,

trying not to go berserk.

We organize, we pray, we educate, we hope….

All in a day’s work.
