Ghost Stories

Ghost Stories

A Poem by Makayla

When I first met you
I did not know your name
Nor did I want to
You were meant to be anonymous
Another body to replace the one I lost control of long ago
The plan was to leave after a night,
Only was supposed to take a bite
How did you get me to eat the whole apple?
Because some how I've spent three days in your bed and a diploma over my head has caught my eye and giving you a name that I will not dare to speak
In fear that I may see your face on another
I cannot recall the point in time when I changed my mind and decided to pursue this
There must of been a hex on your kiss, you witch
Yet I was the one burned at the stake for necromancy
You are the ghost i was warned about as kid
Your hooked hand caressed my cheek so softly I didn't notice the blood stains on your sleeve
Mistook your transparency for vulnerability
Not realizing you're just a shadow of who you once were
I wonder sometimes who did this to you
What happened in you life that made you decide that yours was not enough and that you had to have another's
I guess I'll never know
Something the stories don't tell you thou is that it's possible to be haunted by the living
You can even fall in love with the dead
