Dark side of the Moon

Dark side of the Moon

A Poem by Makayla
"

this is not a pink floyd reference

"

Do you remember life before it

staring at your mother begging her to quit

as she held it in her hand, already lit

telling you that you don't know s**t

you stole one, one night

mom does it so it must be alright

you put it between your lips and began to light

smoke entered your lungs, your throat became tight

this was only the beginning

drinking bottles till the room starts spinning

snorting powder till you feel like your winning

but who am I kidding

your dying

they're killing you and you're complying

no one can tell if your lying

you say you'll get better but you're not trying

I'm done

you're fighting a war but they won

the struggle has only begun

you're trapped behind the moon and burned by the sun

it shows how easy it is for us to submerge into the very thing that kills us because it seems to be the only thing that sustains us. great write!!
