A Poem by offbeat orator

entrenched in the earth, confined to one spot,
with no voice to tell us if they happy or not.
long do they live but not much can they see,
it must be awful, imprisoned to life as a tree.

though purpose they have, to serve and supply,
what wrong have they done to be motion denied?
if trees spoke and tales of their existence were told,
we'd agree, trees be cursed, if they have any souls.
