A Poem by offbeat orator

with each days eve, my guilt finds reprieve, in opposition without voice,
failed protests in silence, no cure without violence, is this really our choice.
the rich get fatter, the poor don't matter, the currency of power is life,
pursuing selfish agenda, we fail to remember, the pain of anothers strife.
procrastination wastes time, desperation fosters crime, we follow lost,
our wishes not actioned, the elected not sanctioned, yet we accept the cost.

You wrote this in 2011 - it's as relevant today as then which is a sad indictment of us all.
If anything the pace of things has gotten faster and the situation more desperate.
It reads somewhat 'Limerick-y' in terms of beats perhaps it was meant to be a rap?
Not a criticism just an observation.
Yes very apt and relevant for our times. Heck for any chosen wedge of mankind's poisonous time on Earth.
