resurrection...

resurrection...

A Poem by offbeat orator

i live it, i breathe it, inside this me is tormented and defeated,
a man alone, a man of stone, this spirit broken and depleted.
lost for face by wicked disgrace, an era disappointingly wasted,
head hung low from cowardly blows, this back a dagger tasted.

stripped to the bone, evicted from throne, choices now resented,
wriggle and writhe or rebuild the pride, this man a test presented.
raise name from dirt and reprise its worth, accept ambitions aborted,
let none other know and let it not show, emotions within distorted.

rise from the ash and with wind let wings clash, forget not next heard,
before dismount know only endgame counts, play all nothing feared.
now go forth, and let forked tongues retort, with shock and disbelieve,
as you get older, God on your shoulder, resurrection you will achieve.
