Deep Darkness

It is a short poem, and I did come it off the top of my head a while ago, but despite its shortness and not too great quality, I do like it, and I hope you do, too.

I like the accusatory tone. It is directed, as with all proper anger, at the world in general. It is the cry of the extremist who was forced into it by circumstances which denied anything but the extreme edges or the extreme middle-ground. And some of us just don't want to compromise ourselves into numbness (although I'm not interested in over-indulging myself into numbness either -- hey, what DO I want?).
I feel that what you are saying relates to this video clip of a comedy sketch show. Even though it is comedy, it is very philosophical:

The relationship is not so much one of tone, but is to do with a feeling of how the adult world prepares you first and foremost to feel undervalued.
