Suzie-Q and Bill

A Poem by Souladareatease

I stood in a doorway
watching
a distant valley sun
splashes
red and purple
secure
while wild ginger
combs
the hallowed ground
waves
My Black Eyed Susan
sings
in the gentle wind
sending
rippled pleasures
across
my burning skin
swathed
in shafts of light
bathe
cattail and sweet flag
softly
hush caressing, as a gentle hand

Imagery to the extreme, my friend... I was transported to this place with you. Brilliantly woven tale with a strange and unusual metaphorical feel that is just on the cusp of my intellectual horizon. I kept personifying the "Black Eyed Susan" in my own mind and imagining her lovingly caressing the narrator in ethereal form. Beautifully woven tale...
