Skimming the Edge of a fine soireeA Poem by SouladareateasecheersGlimpsing through the window I saw the gala from a snow drift ledge Perukes, periwigs and fine paduasoy mixed and mingled as I madescent listened in to porcelain elegance honeyed tongues dripped sweet sugars warm decadence like light from a candle held me enrapture, the mind flying in whirling dervish which trick deem me entry the door fusilier kept position flickering flint hovering defenses striking debonair, his frock coat fell formulating menace giving me pause in thought to dark cellars but I flushed this fear with nip of spirit proclaiming a title which fit my visage and in the old ways he announced "his Lordship Peregrine Gall" leads upon scenery greens took awe in bright eye offerings to regale me with crystalline prose if same exchange would divvy my talk then I knew well, heart in hearth
