Daily Bread

Daily Bread

A Poem by Souladareatease

He walked out of a store
Bread in hand
dough in the other.

Envisioned Her standing
stillness in the street
only movement, was.

His racing Heart, thumping
outlines, reverberating Images
that become clearer with time.

Pacing his breath so
as not to pass out,
collapses upon his
dreamy thoughts.

Yesterday, today, tomorrow
Infinite Delicate Perfection.

where shall we the stream
flow in hope the sea...

mini are crafts that bring us
to encompassing the Ark.

Floating along right in
center of the eye
storms grow readily
blanketing countryside, raising
grasses anticipation,
plush green these fields
grow in tall, beds of essence.

The man focuses, takes a bite
of his bread and heads for home.

Beautifully done... I'm mesmerized by the idea of a vision being so strong and tangible that it stops someone dead in their tracks and causes them to pause and reflect. I like to think of this as a "love at first sight" idea...though perhaps that was not the intent (but I'm the reader so I can draw my own conclusions :) I imagine what it would feel like to be looked at this way; to be thought of this way. Well done...

A simulacrum. The slightest appearance of something or someone in your mind occuring at an unexpected time and place like a faint trace of a dream. You have captured a smallest portion of occurence in a man's thoughts making it significant. Like nucleus to a body. I admire this write. This is a favorite.

give us this day our deja vu, and lead us not into memories, for thy bread and thy dough, they comfort me...sorry, this felt like a religious experience. now , if you don't mind, i have an ark to catch!

Sometimes, we are stopped in our tracks by that memory, that vision, that thought, from a precious bygone era...but that we still cling to in hope of finding again some day.

Loved this line...

"where shall we the stream
flow in hope the sea...
mini are crafts that bring us
to encompassing the Ark" - So beautifully said here. We stream along in hope of that sea. Our eternal quest.

But there is still a lot to be dealt with in the present and thankfully, he focused and headed home.

I loved this rendition. It was superbly thought-out and written.
