The Finely Adorned Temple

The Finely Adorned Temple

A Poem by Stephen

There is a temple
that is finely adorned
if only known what lies within
it would be mourned

The Temple is beautiful
that's easy to see
for the outward appearance
gives a sense of glee

Men are drawn to the temple
for it is appealing to the eye
it seems to have a lot of riches
but soon they find a lie

For the appearance of the temple
does not tell of the truth within
once you have entered
you find a world of sin

once you've stepped into the darkness
its hard to find your way
for now you slowly become blind
to what was the light of day

You look for a way out
but stumble over death along the way
you hear the bones crack and snap
of those who previously went astray

Its full of death's treasures
they are there to stay
for when one enters
no treasures will come away
