The Spirits Unknown

The Spirits Unknown

A Poem by Stephen

A loved one passes
to another place they go
a realm we cannot see
a place we seek to know

The mind cannot comprehend
where loved ones pass on
the brain defaults to reason
you cannot understand by that alone

If we but accept
that Heaven or Hell is their home
we would not seek this world
for spirits that roam

through mediums we seek
to reach our loved ones gone
not realizing its evil
that we condone

Its understandable
with loved ones we want to speak
and the demons know this
for deception do they seek

Deception is their objective
they take the form of the loved one
for speaking with familier spirits
is against the commandments of the Son

There is no purgatory
that we have to quell
What ever decision here is made
will determine where we dwell

Beyond there is only Heaven or Hell
after death, on earth, we shall not roam
for it is between the two
that we shall find our home

Very cool work here. Spirits that prey on our grief. I really enjoyed reading this. I especially loved your rhyming schemes.
