The Abortion - Terminator Fan Fiction, Part. 1A Story by ODMK {Oliver D.M King]Sleeping that night Sarah had a dream, a dream of death and destruction. She woke in the morning with only fragments of the nightmare she saw the night before. Perhaps it was the drinks she had the night before, or maybe it was guilt from bringing a man home she had never met prior. It was the 80's she wasn’t about to let it bother her being a model it wasn’t abnormal for her to be desired. Sarah saw LA it was in ruin’s, there were flying spaceships and it looked like a war zone. She heard the cry of men, women, and children, she heard the sounds of lasers cutting through metal, through flesh. Sarah didn’t know what it meant but she pushed it out of her mind. The night previous was such a blur, the man who she met at Metro, a night club, handsome, blonde, she smiled when she woke and peered over to him, then left. Over the next couple days she drifted through time without much though accept of what happened with her and the nameless man. The days were filled with sirens, police were feuding with a man who claimed to be a time-travelling mercenary at war with a robot. The strange thing about it all was that a drawing of him done by a sketch artist looked familiar to Sarah. After awhile the stories dissipated, the only other headlines with remarking was the nuclear explosion in southern California and the charred remains of a metal skeleton that washed up on the shores of northern Mexico. Sarah wasn’t deeply concerned with any of it because she was scared. She hadn’t gotten her period and genuinely feared she was pregnant. She decided to but a pregnancy test and see once and for all. To her horror she in fact was with child. Without a father in sight a faceless man had impregnated her and she walked right out of his life. She went to an abortion clinic to get information but was to scared so she left, wanting to come back with some support. Falling to sleep that night with the only concern of having to raise a child on her own she dreamt again. It was more of what she saw before, the sky was in a constant dark state, the man who was on the news was there, he was talking to a man whose face could not be seen. They were facing a flat television, it said on it December 24th, 2011. She woke up screaming, it was late at night, she went back to bed. In the morning she went back to the clinic with her friend Eleanor, she had signed up for the process and initiated it. That was that, it was over, she stayed single until her life had been over, 1996 a nuclear holocaust killed Sarah in her sleep. She woke up back in her bed in 1984. It had been a dream, but she knew now something that was buried in her sub-conscience, the man on the news was the man she slept with and that if she had choose to abort the unborn child surely she would die in that blast. That morning she called her friend over Eleanor Ellison over for company, she tried to explain to her what had happened. Eleanor said that it wasn’t completely crazy and that it would be a great story to be told, she talked about someone in her family being a sci-fi writer and that it could be a good place for Sarah to pursue a career in. She wasn’t getting through to her but what she said stuck in Sarah’s mind, maybe she was crazy and should write a book about the end of the world but you have to know the story before you take it to press she thought. Sarah didn’t know that story, only fragments. That night after pondering her sanity she chose to sleep with the thought’s in mind to connect all the pieces. "You were always a smart woman Sarah" Said the man in the shadows, here she was again in that post-apocalyptic world, the room looked to be from the basement of a hospital. "What?" hearing her voice Sarah looked down to her hands, they were older "Who... where?" she attempted to ask but no words came out. "Sarah, do you recognise me?" "Yeah I slept with you, I’m pregnant because of you." she said "This is crazy, this is just a dream" "Actually, this isn’t. Sarah?" The man stepped out from the shadows he was dark, handsome, looked like the man beside him, father and son perhaps "Sarah I am your son. John, this isn’t a dream, we used this device which displaces certain things like brain waves and sends them through time. Better then sending back humans. But in about 20 minutes were sending back him back, we assumed that by this time you have already conceived me" Sarah was shocked at all this, she thought it was crazy yet it seemed strangely true and familiar "Do you have any proof? Something viable because it’s seeming really farfetched right now." "Mobile phone’s, the internet, plasma television, iPods, jet propulsion, cingularity, Sarah we can go on forever." said the man Sarah slept with "Look we are all connected to this computer, now this device lets us implant new memories to a person and sends the signal to any point in that persons time." She looked down again to the floor, "What’s wrong?" asked John "I thought about getting an abortion." she looked up at him with tears in her eyes "I’m so sorry John" The two looked at each other, Sarah tried to remain in the loop "What?" "That may possibly explain what happened, our time line is changing as we speak creating a paradox of worlds. You see General Reese is about to go back to 1984 to stop a Terminator from killing you and thereby killing me. One of our commanders who was about to shut down the network which controls the robots here, it is very elaborate but the point is that something happened when he was about to complete his mission." "What was that?" "He ceased to exist. We hacked a server and were watching from a satellite his progress when he vanished into thin air. The space around him went black and an entire armada of TAI-5500's was destroyed in the process. He just vanished and fried the fleet of terminators." "So?" asked Sarah clueless to everything that was being said "Skynet is still active, there is nothing we can do about that, but you can." "And what is that exactly?" "You can oversee the birth of Devon Gellar. He is the one who stops Skynet." "Why don’t you just send someone..." "Back to before he was born? The same reason we don’t send the resistence back to destroy Skynet. It doesn’t work that way, we are limited, that is why we are sending Kyle back. To create me, and stop the robot from interfering with your life until now, three months later so you can tell us the new path of the future in your present." "So when I wake up here these memories of this series of events will remain with me as a dream but when I open my eye’s there the future will be re-written and you will know the outcome everything, provided you send Kyle back to sleep with me and thus have you?" "Precisely" "What happens to you then? I mean after you come? Here, you had a one night stand with me and already, obviously." "Well that’s all determined, I may be dead already. but as long as humanity is alive tomorrow it’s what’s best." "Okay, suppose I believe all of this... Where do I need to go from here? What do I do?" "Shadow Gellar’s mother, the date of his birth is almost the same as mine, if something happens we approximate that it happens near after my birth. Due to the wake of damage the paradox created." "What do you mean?" Sarah asked puzzled "I mean that when he vanished of the face of earth he created a crater the size of Manhattan in the middle of the Mojave desert." "Quick our window is closing" hollered Kyle "Look, we just met and you told me that I was John’s father, this is the second encounter I had with past Sarah for you but for me it’s the first." approaching Sarah, Kyle put his hand over her’s "I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel about all of this but all I know is that Sarah, the future Sarah, I have come to love in the past while I’ve know her." "Mom, I love you. Now remember, we have to deal with the fact that Kyle may be dead, now although we are travelling time ours in still moving forward. Kyle won’t be born until the late 90's and I am born in the following months. If anything is skipped it can ruin our reality." A distant commotion shook the ground the trio stood on, the ruin shelter that surrounded them quaked and rubble fell from above like dust debris signalling that on the other side of the only door that led to exit something unwelcomed intruded. Like clockwork a woman, dressed in bullet belts slung over her body like shall’s of metal interrupted the confusion. "Beg your pardon but we’ve got company." In the background the red flash of lasers streamed past and struck the woman, the plumes of smoke left the damage un-assessable but the unmistakable red glow of inferred scanning camera’s sensors jolted past and present together in a mixture of conscience and sub-conscience. "F**K! KYLE, HIT THE SWITCH I’M AWAKE AND NOT ALONE!!" The words came out her mouth but were not spoken by Sarah, immediate visions of robots, flying plains, car crashes, death and destruction hit Sarah, she was interlocked with who she was about to become within the next couple of decades. Thousands of polaroid’s played like home movies in her brain, a doctor saying something about cancer, the same doctor then saying remission, a child being born. It was overbearing to her, she knew then and there it wasn’t a dream. More entered her minds-eye, a wedding, televisions displaying images of exploding cities, giant metal beasts, none of it was making any sense yet it all made sense. "Okay! Goodbye Sarah!" yelled Kyle from behind one of the panels With that Sarah woke up in her bed, back in her room, back to normal. She sat up her chest heaving from the intensity of what she dreamt but didn’t dream, of what she saw, she lived. How am I supposed to sleep after that? She thought, the sun was shining tangerine onto her peach plastic blinds. Her room was the way it was when she went to bed, so comfortable and sweet but to Sarah now seemed like a joke. It was sentimental novelty collected to lay waste in due time, why? She needed none of it but longed for it when she didn’t have it. Now it mattered to her less than ever, Sarah yesterday was the Sarah who loved those things, holding them dear to her, Sarah today was already Sarah tomorrow. As she showered she thought about the present that was moving toward a future that was never going to happen because of progression of yesterday by people who were being human. The willingness to advance is going to cost us everything and there was nothing she could due because it was inevitable, the only way to defeat that was to let it happen and defeat it. A necessary evil. What happens the day after tomorrow Sarah thought to herself as she brushed her teeth, so cynical and negative Sarah tomorrow was but the "light of the end of the tunnel" yesterday Sarah came back conflicting to sides of it. "Where will we stand when, if, we win?" She asked her reflection.

As the days bore on Sarah attempted to find mother of Devon Gellar, she was having no luck whatsoever with the women she shadowed. Young but how was she supposed to know if they had a child in them. Then it occurred to her. She had never met Devon, there was no face to put a person to, Devon was nothing yet, the future still semen within the body of a man. Sarah had an epiphany, Devon was anyone. The mother of Devon Gellar was any woman who within the next short while had slept with a man and she had the last name Gellar. Walking up and down her kitchen Sarah looked in the phone book and searched for someone who could possibly probability-wise held the future of the world in their lap and didn’t know it. Writing the addresses of every Gellar in the Los Angeles area she systematically watched all of them and narrowed it down to seven possible’s. The one’s who looked most likely to have sex or were in a relationship narrowed it down to three. Within the next two weeks she followed Rebecca, Jessica, and Ariel Gellar around the city. "What if I just shot two and forced one to have sex with a man then hide her in an attic for nine months until we have humanities saviour?" she spoke cynically into the microphone of a voice recorder she bought secondhand for her unborn son John. "That was a joke, I know that I’m going to live well into the post-apocalyptic era of humanity but still, I want a record of the first time memory is travelled, since manned and robotic travel has already occurred." laughing she sign’s off and puts the recording safely under the passenger seat. She goes to her next target and follows her from her apartment to a coffee shop. Increasingly getting tired of the continuing monotonous cycle she found herself in she decided to go join Jessica. Walking in the Café Sarah watched Jessica sit at a table with a girl in her teens. She was very pretty and wore a neon pink headband and yellow windbreaker, very trendy this day in age. Deciding to get close to the pair she sat with her back turned to Jessica and ordered a coffee and biscotti. After "hello’s" and "how have you been’s" Sarah found out that Melanie was Jessica’s younger sister who lived with "mom and dad" until she was supposed to go off to Collage. "Jess?" Melanie asked sounding alarmed "Yeah Mel?" Jessica replied "I’m scared" "Well, it’s normal to be scared about leaving home for the first time. Don’t worr..." Jessica was cut off from her sister abruptly "No, no! Not that! I mean, about something else, something much worse." "What Mel? Are you in some sort of trouble?" "Uh, I’m late."
