Why should I waste my time, trying to "just get by"?

hoping it’ll get better but really making things worse

it’s like I can’t get by and I am not going to sell out, even for you dear

Take for granted following the demanded on a leash doing what’s commanded.

 

When I am in the bright lights fighting back the press, pressing up against the wall refusing to fall I’ll be wishing you’d call, risking it all.

Oh all for nothing taking a chance, nothing at first glance, but you never though I’d amount to anything [laughing manically] oh how you though I lied oh how you were wrong. Saying you’d take me, made me, waking up what’s inside, and that you’d break me if I walk away.

 

When tomorrow come’s and I’ve resin above it all. When the sun sets and takes with it my past regrets, then you’ll apologize for all the times but it’s done now like yesterday, [today] forgetting you for what it’s worth-I hope it hurt’s.

Very nice! It's interesting how your title says "All For Nothing" and you repeat it a couple of times throughout, but to me it seems like "all OR nothing". By not just getting by, they are giving their all. I guess it's a little of both. I like the speaker's fight and how they are so compassionate and striving to survive. The only thing I would say is to try not to use too many cliches. When lyrics contain cliches they kinda fade to the background and the song is not longer about the words. Otherwise, great work. It definitely has song potential.
