Fissures Never Closing
by Odin Roark Cracks at first Spiderweb in nature Little hurts Unintended pain Growing-up suffering Emotional droughts impact Times when no amount Of heart’s moisture Can irrigate the desiccation When nothing is at risk When seeding Growth Blooming And harvest Have never been experienced Tempest stays dormant Winds of passion sweep by Effecting nothing Moving dry and lifeless breath Into vacuous memories Associations unlived Connections unmade Rage rumbles unexpected Molten anger broils within Eruption threatens Evaporative feelings escape Disappear All that’s left convulses Its eye of the storm intensifies The once spider web lessons All but forgotten Explosions sever the foundation Blinding hot emotion ensues Spasms of wretched anguish Burst to the surface Rendering all in its path Buried So goes that which is ignored Where state and federal policy flounders While concern for the have-alls Maintains status quo Remaining safely housed In its bureaucratic bubble Floating above so many fissures That may never close © 2014 Odin Roark |
