Shimmering Holograms

Shimmering Holograms

A Poem by Odin Roark
"

Whether a love, business or political relationship, many would argue that the integrity of same is rapidly becoming endangered.

Shimmering Holograms

                           by Odin Roark

The relationships hang in space

Levitating as impressive images

Once of consequence

Now void of substance

How very long the translucent layers built

Molding beginnings of meaningful passion

That withdrew slowly into tortoise-like armor

Each with accumulated secrets

Festering

Time passed

More betrayals amassed

Expanding beyond the flesh

Finances

Business

Family

All thought hidden beneath

The hardened shell of deceit

Underlying this make-believe shield

Continued these foolish human beings

Doing foolish things

All the while

Knowing the counterbalance to foolishness

Was compassion they had denied themselves

Each convinced forgiveness undeserved

As if it must be earned

Rather than given from the heart

What endured

Were fractured remnants

Scattered light beams of living

Mirroring the past three-dimensional commitment

Into these shimmering holograms

Of what once was real

Thank you

Our next galactic tour is in 40 centons
