Have You Ever Sought...

Have You Ever Sought...

A Poem by Odin Roark
"

Revisiting a past embrace of music’s passion, Morricone’s “The Legend of 1900,” I was reminded of hunger’s many guises.

"
Have You Ever Sought...
           by Odin Roark

Challenge your passion
Discover that which knows
Never an extinguished flame
Only the implosive idleness of waiting

How selective goes the emotion
Sometimes of mistake
Often of decisions begetting regret
Yet always alive
Dancing with the anticipation of
Never-ending hope

Out there is connection
Awaiting synergistic melding
Rightness
Discovery
Grounding

Some wait
Some jettison their risk
Fear destroying future
Yet all know
Without passion
Life is dead

So

Take the risk
Render your reservations naked
For somewhere
There exists
The connection
Where passion’s arc
Finds its grounding
Playful
Precarious
Ultimately ethereal

Be prepared
The junction
Knows disturbance well
Even destruction’s bent

Yet

When was passion
Ever given safe passage?

Have you ever sought…
