Rust-framed Reflections
A Poem by Odin Roark
With camera in hand, burial grounds of youthful symbols will always remain nostalgic.
Rust-framed Reflections
by Odin Roark
Where junkyard dogs roam
Bumper reflections radiate among sunbaked rubble
Like comets' dying contrails
Streaking about once proud speed trophies
Now but discarded cosmic debris
Door handles hold steady their shimmer
Like undying entries for coming of age
Hood ornaments once prized
Like bygone identity-muscle
Now glare at one another
Holding fast their stare-down moment
As sunlight arcs the sky
Teasing all that still glitters
Among salvage yard chrome
Preserving diehard honor
Among yesteryear's
Rust-framed memories
