Flowers That Never Open

Flowers That Never Open

A Poem by Odin Roark
"

There are so many signs often ignored in our quest for love. Sometimes it’s not easy to pay attention when one is longing.

"
Flowers That Never Open
by Odin Roark

Flowers that stay in love's corner
struggling to emerge from mistake's tight-necked vase
as if strangling was their destiny
know well dusk's everyday farewell
dawn's luminance to wish upon

The caress of warmth and light
seemingly shadowed in fate
knows not any requirement
only to be

Yet

To be given the touch
to be caressed and cared for
lifting breath's fragrance to arrest a smile
a dream realized
ethereal freedom without capture
known by few

Could it be

Flowers that never open
were never meant to be given?
