The Cycle Of A RelationshipA Poem by Jaded MemoriesThis is based on a personal experience (not mine), so it's a bit simplistic and the last verse is supposed to sound sarcastic. You were vexing and perplexing Annoyed her to a T Popped up in conversations Attempting to be funny. She rebuffed you and snuffed you And somehow you stayed tough After some time later You declared to her, your love. Days passed eventually months The relationship was great Until after four months You recited clichéd verses Said you never had any time The only thing you did to keep her Was, you kept her with these rhymes. Fed her sweet words Which turned bitter in the end And after all that trouble You found yourself single Once again... She bids you farewell And for some needed advice To be a good boyfriend You have to put up a fight. Don't put her down Or keep her locked up Don't beat her Or cheat her Or you'll be out of luck. Don't be selfish Or think she'll run back She will be gone forever You won't ever have her back. And after you have lost her You'll be standing there Alone and in despair And eventually, You will convince yourself to mingle After all, once again... You're single. © 2015 Jaded Memories |
