Vampires

Vampires

A Poem by Ocularfracture
"

Lame, gothic poetry.

"

The moon is full and shining down,

The sky is dark as coal.

The stars are shining pure and white,

So much unlike my soul.

With every breath that I inhale,

I feel my darkness grow.

Despite how hard I try to fight,

So smooth, it seems to flow.

With distant thunder, I can feel

My insides start to burn.

And for a tiny taste of blood

My body starts to yearn.

I pull my coat around me tight

And walk against the wind.

Inside my head, I slowly pray,

“Forgive me; I have sinned.”

The raindrops come so suddenly,

And then, my face is cold.

Then, suddenly, a flash of light,

There’s lightning to behold.

A figure floats across the road,

I clench my teeth down tight,

Then, duck into the shadows,

And prepare myself to strike.

About
I've been writing since I learned how. I'm not saying that 5-year-old work was any good. All's I'm sayin' is that the passion has been there as far back as I can remember. My mother always read me sto.. more..
