In Dreams

In Dreams

A Poem by Ocularfracture
"

A flowy description of a beautiful world within one's own mind.

"

In dreams we can fly in a lavender sky

And drink from a fountain of wine

In dreams we can swim in an ocean of pink

and feast on a banquet divine.

With vast silver deserts and feathery clouds

and air just as sweet as a rose

To swim underwater and greet all the starfish

and not have to hold your nose.

The breezes are made of the finest of silk,

and the sun is a glowing red heart

The raindrops will paint as they fall to the ground,

producing such wonders of art.

We can step in the waters of shining gold lakes

and bathe for an hour or more

And when we emerge, we'll be glimmering, too

Laughing as we come ashore.

In dreams there are colours that we've never seen

and music that we've never heard

Mysterious people whose voices so lovely

can captivate us at a word.

With stars glinting brightly in red velvet skies

and candles that glow in the night

We'll lie side by side upon silky rose petals

and whisper sweet words of delight.

When dreams fade away and we're called back to earth

the feelings of joy melt away

But I will not cry for I'll be there again

once more at the end of the day.

I've been writing since I learned how. I'm not saying that 5-year-old work was any good. All's I'm sayin' is that the passion has been there as far back as I can remember. My mother always read me sto.. more..
