The Companion

The Companion

A Poem by Ocularfracture
"

My name isn't Adam, nor am I a man, but this poem sort of describes the loneliness of my life.

"

I talked with a man for awhile.

“I’m Adam,” he said with a smile.

I said, “So am I,”

And soon, time flew by.

Talking and laughing in style.

We spoke about things we adored

Never getting the slightest bit bored.

He heard every word

Though some were absurd,

And I didn’t at all feel ignored.

Once hours had come and had gone

I knew it was time to move on.

I stepped from the mirror,

Not shedding a tear

For I’d see me again, come dawn.

I've been writing since I learned how. I'm not saying that 5-year-old work was any good. All's I'm sayin' is that the passion has been there as far back as I can remember. My mother always read me sto.. more..
