And Then I Break

And Then I Break

A Poem by October Callow
"

This is a poem about two siblings who represent dawn and night, and they are chasing each other around unsuccessfully.

"
My brother leaves me
and I break.
The burning passion bursts
through my walls,
melting the boundaries
that keep me safe
and I break.
I live but for a short time
yet every day,
I try again
and I break,
for I am Dawn.

Darkness prevails
and I fall.
The worst demons
grow strong now,
feeding off my terror
as the light drops me
and I fall.
I do the only thing
that lets me
greet my sister again
and I fall,
for I am Night.
