Through Black Eyes

Through Black Eyes

A Poem by kailanthropy
"

This is what I see on the daily.

"

White women with

creamy skin and the

sky in their eyes,

white women with

speckled noses and

rosy lips,

white women decorating

the TV, white women

dancing among the

dreams of

men,

white women with

multicolored hair

and flowers

on their ears,

white women in the

world’s most

cherished masterpieces,

white women deemed

beauties and angels

in history books,

white women idolized

in romance films with

the wind billowing

through their skirts,

white women sexualized

in society’s smut,

white women drawn

for the sake of

contemporary art,

white women

lifted up from

all corners of the

country, in a

country painted

with the hues of

all faces.
