Begrudged

Begrudged

A Poem by Gaige

Clutching at the falling pieces
Alone on my island of trepidation
So desperate to control
Floating adrift on a sea of holes
Humble my arrogant state of mind
Reflected in a world that judges
Drown me ever so gently
Like I'm a small, impudent child
Give away my fleeting soul
Crushed into contorted anger
Topple my heart like a crown
Eventually my innocence will fall down
And all that will remain
Is this beautiful schism
